This presentation explains what is happening during anaphylaxis and how it should be treated by patients and physicians. Symptoms are described and indications for epinephrine are explained. The use of adjunctive medications such as antihistamines and steroids is discussed. Tips and challenges in using epinephrine auto-injectors are presented, with advice for safe use and navigating choices. The participant is expected to leave feeling more empowered to recognize and manage their or their child’s allergic reactions.
